Costs of Assisted Living

After first asking, “Is Assisted Living right for me?” the next concern most people have is how much will it cost? With more than 31,000 Assisted Living facilities nationwide, there are many options and price points from which to choose. As a result, it is not uncommon to experience uncertainty and doubt when determining the best way to pay for a loved one’s care.

Annual cost for long-term care ranges from $17,680 for adult day care to more than $92,000 for a private room in a nursing home

Most Assisted Living residences charge on a month-to-month lease arrangement. Residents pay a monthly rental fee that typically includes (but is always not limited to) a base range of benefits and services, such as:

  • Room and board
  • 2-3 meals a day
  • Activities
  • Basic housekeeping
  • Utilities
  • Facility upkeep and maintenance
  • Local transportation

These costs can be further influenced by a number of factors, such as…

  • Location of the residence
Country Place Senior Living residences are conveniently located near shopping centers, grocery stores and other social venues, such as public libraries, parks, senior centers.
  • Private or semi-private suites
All Country Place Senior Living suites are private units that can accommodate one or two residents; exact occupancy guidelines are set by the state in which we operate
  • Amenities and services included in the base rate
A few of the basic amenities offered by Country Place Senior Living are three nutritionally balanced daily meals, utilities, a 24-hour emergency communication system, limited medication management and weekly housekeeping and laundry services.
  • The cost of “extra” services
Country Place Senior Living includes basic cable television in our monthly lease rate. Premium channels and telephone are available for an additional charge. Assistance with oxygen, special dietary needs and other personalized level of care services are also offered for an additional charge. Please visit our Levels of Care page for more information.

The typical Assisted Living resident has an income of about $19,000 per year.

The majority of Assisted Living residences – including Country Place Senior Living – use a bundled pricing model with basic services included. Residents requiring minimal assistance pay the lowest price. Those requiring greater assistance see pricing increase incrementally depending on their individual needs. Other charges may include…

  • Entrance fees up to one month's rent
  • Pet / Property deposits
  • Moving costs / relocation expenses

Although Country Place Senior Living requires a non-refundable deposit for each resident’s pet, we do not charge an entrance or administrative fee of any kind. In addition, we pay up to $500 of a new resident’s moving expenses.

When researching Assisted Living residences, ask for a written copy of their resident agreement. Ask for details in writing that spell out pricing, amenities / services, move-in / move-out criteria, pet policies and other additional charges.
